Annular solar eclipse trip, September 30 – October 15, 2023. 2023年9月30至10月15日, 日环食之旅。 (P)(V)
The path of the October 14, 2023 annular solar eclipse goes from Oregon to Texas, passing through mid-western states such as Utah which usually have a good chance for clear skies in mid-October. After some research I picked the Natural Bridges National Monument as the spot to photograph the eclipse. The plan is to capture the eclipse with a natural bridge as the foreground. Other destinations of the trip include the Great Basin National Park in Nevada and Monument Valley in Arizona. The weather of October 14 turned out to be great, even though I didn't prepare sufficiently I still consider it a success. Other stops of the trip are fun as well. A lot of areas along our route have very dark skies thanks to low light pollution which is great for stargazing and Milky Way photography, and we unexpectedly had our best shrimp quesadilla on our drive from Great Basin to Mexican Hat, Utah.
