Here is how it changed through the 5 weeks. I was always standing on Maryland Heights shooting south toward the town across the Potomac River, which flows from right to left in the images. Shenandoah River flows along the left edge of the town and joins the Potomac River. Many factors that could impact the perception of color such as weather, lighting, time of day, white balance, composition, and post-processing either couldn't be or were not well controlled. In addition, different areas peaked at different times. Still, it is clear that for this scene the overall best color likely happened between November 6 and 14.

这5周的景色变化。这6张图都是从马里兰高地的同一个地点往南拍摄。图中波多马克河从右向左流，香浓河从镇子左边流过汇入波多马克河。很多影响对颜色观感的因素要么无法控制要么没有好好控制。图中不同的区域树叶变色的时间还不尽相同。尽管如此，还是能看出来从这个角度最好的颜色应该在11月6号到14号之间。

October 18. Several trees along the main street of the town (Shenandoah Street) turned red at the very top, and some leaves on a few trees near where I stand turned yellow, but other than that it's still mostly green, with isolated pockets showing a hint of yellow. 10月18号。镇子里主要街道旁有几棵树的最顶上变红了，我站的地方附近几棵树部分叶子黄了，除此之外大部分的地方还是绿的，只有一些零零散散的地方有那么一丝黄意。

October 24. More trees along Shenandoah Street are changing color, and most leaves on the tree next to me have turned yellow. On the mountain (Loudoun Heights) to the left and across the rivers, yellow is gaining a foothold and a few isolated trees are showing some red. 10月24号。镇子里更多的树开始变颜色，我旁边的这棵树大部分叶子都黄了。图中靠左河对岸的山（劳登高地）开始有明显的黄色，有几棵树还上了红色。

October 31. Not drastically different from the previous week. More areas turned yellow, including on Loudoun Heights and the island in the Potomac River. 10月31号。和上周比变化不大，更多的地方变黄了。

November 6. Images were taken too late in the morning and it's hard to make out colors on Loudoun heights due to severe back lighting. Some trees that changed color earlier by now have lost the majority of their leaves, for example, a couple in the town, and the one just to the right of where I'm standing. The trees along the near bank of the Potomac River seem to have just peaked. 11月6号。拍这张图的时间太晚了，阳光强烈到劳登高地的颜色都看不出来。一些最早变色的树，像我旁边这棵还有镇子里的几颗已经不那么浓艳了。沿着波多马克河靠近我的这一侧河岸的树刚到颜色最浓的时候。

November 14. While some trees have already lost all the leaves and others had theirs dried up, many more are putting on their best show, including those on the hill just above the town. Overall colors in this image are by far the most vibrant. 11月14号。有些树的叶子已经发干、脱落，但很多其它的树正在颜色最好的时候，特别是小镇山上的那些终于也变了颜色。总体上很明显，此图颜色最鲜艳。

November 20. It is obviously past peak. 11月20号。最好的时侯显然已经过去了。
