| Giant Logs Trail |
| Some of the petrified logs here have a diameter over 9 feet. Petrified wood is formed under certain conditions when the organic matters of the tree cells are replaced by silica (where the colors come from). As a result they exhibit certain characteristics of crystal: hard but brittle, and breaks on a clean angle like being cut by a saw. |
